TESTIMONIALS

Sometimes what starts off as a piece of parenting work becomes 1-1 work with the child. In this case parents were trying really hard to make changes in their parenting to support their 9 year old daughter, but her sense of shame about her behaviour was a real barrier.

"We can’t recommend Jo highly enough. She was incredible at guiding us through the challenges we were facing, offering understanding, support, and really practical strategies to help us better support our daughter.

Jo then worked 1:1 online with our 9-year-old, and the difference it made was truly life-changing. After years of struggling to find the right support, we were amazed at the positive impact Jo had. Our daughter felt so comfortable opening up and, with Jo’s help, began to understand herself better and learn ways to manage her emotions when dysregulated.

We’re so grateful and will absolutely be reaching out to Jo again whenever we need a bit of support in the future."
"I can wholeheartedly recommend Jo to anyone considering getting that extra bit of support with a child who is struggling, and to reinforce the parenting strategies you’re already using.

My daughter was 8 when we first started her sessions, initially to help with separation anxiety. Of course this meant she was very shy of new people but Jo was fantastic at making her (and me!) feel at ease straight away. The work around her separation anxiety was hugely impactful after only a few sessions, but by this point my daughter was loving her ‘Jo sessions’ so much and getting such a lot out of them that we continued for quite a fair few more months.

During her time in therapy with Jo she has also undergone her own diagnoses for autism and ADHD which Jo has really helped her to celebrate. None of these life struggles have fazed Jo in the slightest, she has such a wealth of experience and sensitivity to all the challenges that affect kids.

My daughter’s confidence has absolutely soared, she’s had a space to talk about and gain such a mature insight into friendships - the nemesis of tween girls - and she has also got loads of tricks up her sleeve to help her regulate when her emotions and feelings get too overwhelming.

When my daughter was getting ready to (reluctantly) come to an end of her sessions she said that Jo was simply ‘magic’, and I absolutely agree."
I often get asked if I work with older teens, the answer is absolutely. As a fully trained NLP practitioner I am qualified to work with adults so for older teens I tend to use a combination of techniques aimed at adults and those aimed at kids.

This testimonial is from the mum of a 16 year old I recently worked with. Her daughter made quick progress because she was really engaged and motivated to learn.

"Anxiety meant that my daughter panicked with any last minute changes to any plans. Anything out of her control caused her to get upset or angry.

Through working with Jo she was able to realise that her situation could be changed with the right methods and approach and by using the tools and coping mechanisms

Now if she does gets upset or angry it is for a very short time and she can now bring herself out of a situation. She does not always react at all and can cope much better with change, and with certain situations that previously caused her anxiety.

I would 100% recommend Jo to other families."
